Light and compact kalimba with clean, not loud sound and special tuning. Constructed with maximum care of detail, S17E is another revolution in the world of kalimba with incredible combination of price and quality. Shape is taken from traditional African design; two row layout also reminds Nyunga-Nynga, but actually scale is very different: It is A-Melodic Minor. It requires understanding of scale and two # keys will sound strange results with intuitive play only. The scale is played differently depending on direction: ascending is A B C D E F# G# and descending is G F E D C B A. Reeds are rigid, very stable, wide and perfectly finished.
