Karimbas

Karimba is a kind of Mbira (kalimba) with an asymmetric distribution of notes in the bottom row. There can be one- and two-row. The basic configuration is 15-reed, to which additional tongues / notes from the edges are sometimes added. In the lower row, the lowest one is the central one (1), the next highest one - the left one (2), then three in the right half, rising from the center to the edge (from left to right), after them - three left ones (from right to left). In the upper row, the central tongue is the highest, and the right and left parts are mirror symmetrical. The right one is set to an octave with tabs under it.
