Full size professional mbira with wonderful overtone interplay. Typical sound - loud with sharp attack and quick fade out in the beginning and long, quiet overtone tale, singing in the background. Short sustain - even on lower keys, whereas higher has no sustain at all - makes it great instrument for fast playing with clean sound keeping. Reeds are hard, but sensitivity is high - even gentle touch produces distinctive sound. Dynamics varies greatly from increasing pressure force. Tips are big and rounded, but polishing not ideal.
Overall character of DJ mbiras is moderately raw and bright. Great instrument for fast playing.
